To remove and install the window regulator motor on 1975-83 models, start by removing the door inner panel and the interior pad. Peel off the water deflector from the soft sealer. Tape the glass to the upper door frame with the glass up all the way. Remove the regulator and glass, disconnect the electrical harness, and drill out the rivets attaching the motor to the door. Install the new motor using new rivets and reconnect the electrical harness. Finally, install the window and regulator as described. For 1984-87 models, remove the door trim panel, insulator pad, and inner water deflector. Tape the window securely to the top door frame. Use a hole saw to drill holes in the three dimples on the inner door panel. Remove the motor attaching bolts, disconnect the wiring harness, and remove the motor through the access hole. To install, lubricate the motor drive gear and regulator sector teeth. Install the regulator motor onto the regulator, ensuring the teeth are properly meshed, and tighten the three mounting bolts. Seal any holes outside the water deflector sealing area with waterproof tape and then install the trim.
