- A:Relieve the fuel system pressure first, then disconnect the negative battery cable. Next, disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator. Remove the retainer clip from the fuel pressure regulator and pull out the fuel pressure regulator. Remove and discard the old o-rings. The old filter should be removed, washed in clean solvent, and inspected for damage. If the filter is damaged, replace it.
