The adjustment procedure for headlights involves using spring-loaded adjusting screws for sealed beam headlights and Torx-head screw adjusters for composite headlights. To begin, a blank wall and level floor are needed, with masking tape positioned vertically on the wall in reference to the vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights. A horizontal tape line is also positioned in reference to the centerline of all the headlights. The adjustments should be made with the vehicle sitting level, the gas tank half-full, and no unusually heavy load in the vehicle. Starting with the low beam adjustment, the high intensity zone should be positioned two inches below the horizontal line and two inches to the right of the headlight vertical line. The top adjusting screw is turned clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower it, while the side adjusting screw is used to move the beam left or right. With the high beams on, the high intensity zone should be vertically centered just below the horizontal line. Finally, the headlights should be adjusted accordingly.

For composite headlights, open the hood and remove the two headlight retainers to drop the assembly forward and down. Reach behind the assembly to turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and unplug it.
