The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Finally, refill the cooling system, change the engine oil and filter, start the engine and check for leaks.

To inspect the camshaft, the lobe height and base circle should be measured to determine the lobe lift. The results should be compared to the specifications, and the camshaft should be replaced if necessary. The camshaft bearing journals should also be inspected for wear and damage, and measured with a micrometer. The camshaft lobes should be checked for discoloration, score marks, chipped areas, and uneven wear.
