- A:After evacuating the system, the compressor pivot and adjusting bolts should be removed. This involves loosening the compressor pivot bolt and removing the compressor adjusting bolt. The electrical connector should then be disconnected from the compressor. The drivebelt should be removed, routing the lower loop behind the vibration damper to gain additional slack if necessary. The compressor can then be removed from the mount. The fitting block bolt at the rear of the compressor should also be removed. If a new compressor is being installed, the usable switches should be transferred from the old unit to the new one. The installation procedures are the reverse of those for removal. When installing the fitting block, new O-rings should be used and lubricated with refrigerant oil.
