- A:To remove the air filter housing, begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, remove the air intake duct and disconnect the electrical connector from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Remove the left front diagonal brace, followed by the air filter element. Remove the upper part of the air filter housing and disconnect the electrical connectors from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Remove the TCM and PCM from the air filter housing, and then remove the TCM/PCM harness from the lower part of the housing. The lower part of the air filter housing is secured by locator pins pushed into rubber mounting grommets, which can be removed by lifting it straight up.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
