- A:For installation, the flywheel and pressure plate machined surfaces are cleaned thoroughly, ensuring no oil or grease is present. The clutch disc and pressure plate are positioned against the flywheel using an alignment tool, and the disc is centered by extending the tool through the splined hub and into the pilot bearing. The pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts are tightened gradually in a criss-cross pattern to prevent distortion.
