Q:
How do you remove the throttle body on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the throttle body, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. If you have a 1.5L or 2.0L engine, you'll also need to remove the charge air cooler inlet air tube. For 2.5L engines, remove the air intake resonator. Regardless of the engine type, disconnect the throttle body electrical connector and remove the throttle body mounting bolts. Inspect the O-ring type throttle body gasket and replace it if it's damaged or worn. If the gasket is in good condition, you can reuse it, but it's recommended to replace it if the vehicle is old. To install the throttle body, start by installing the gasket and then tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque. Finally, start the engine and check that the throttle body operates correctly and there are no air leaks.
