- Q:How to remove and install front sway bar kit, bushings, and links on a Saturn LS and LS1? Posted by Customer
- A:To begin, loosen the front wheel lug nuts and raise the front of the vehicle. Support it securely on jackstands and remove the front wheels. Next, remove the nuts that attach the upper and lower ends of the Sway Bar Link to the strut/coil spring assembly and to the Sway Bar Kit. Detach the links. Then, remove the bolts from the sway bar bushing retainers and remove the retainers from the bushings. Inspect the retainer bushings for any damage and replace them if necessary. Install the links and tighten the link nuts to the specified torque. Install the retainer bushings, ensuring the slit in each bushing faces towards the rear of the vehicle. Finally, install the retainers and bolts, tightening them to the specified torque. For V6 models, follow similar steps but also remove the rear exhaust manifold pipe if equipped with a manual transaxle. Maneuver the Sway Bar Kit out through the left front wheel well and remove it from the vehicle. Inspect the bushings for any damage and replace them if needed. Lubricate the new bushings with vegetable oil and install them with the slit facing towards the rear of the vehicle. Install the link bolts, insulators, and nuts, and if applicable, reinstall the exhaust manifold pipe. Finally, install the wheels and lug nuts, then lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel lug nuts to the specified torque.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
