- A:The accelerator control system is a cable type with no linkage adjustments. To remove the cable, start by disconnecting it from the negative terminal of the battery and the EFI unit. Remove the shift knob, console covers, and supports, as well as the ECM unit and its electrical harness. Then, remove the accelerator cable at the instrument panel support and pedal assembly, and through the rear body panel and console. For installation, route the new cable through the rear body panel and console, ensuring that the conduit fitting at both ends is properly locked in place. Connect the cable at the instrument panel support and pedal assembly, and reinstall the ECM unit and its electrical harness. Finally, install the console covers and shift knob, and connect the cable to the EFI unit and related brackets.
