Locate the pin that secures the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal. It's accessible from inside the vehicle, under the dash on the driver's side. Remove the driver's side lower trim panel, then remove the clip and pin that secure the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal. Working inside the engine compartment, remove as much fluid as you can from the brake master cylinder reservoir with a syringe, such as an old turkey baster (the clutch master cylinder is supplied with fluid from the brake fluid reservoir). Place rags under the fluid fittings and prepare caps or plastic bags to cover the ends of lines or fittings once they are disconnected. Brake fluid will damage paint. Cover all body parts and be careful not to spill fluid during this procedure. Disconnect the clutch master cylinder supply hose from the brake master cylinder. Release the clutch master cylinder-to-release cylinder hydraulic line from the body retaining clips. Remove the line clip at the master cylinder hydraulic line fitting, then separate the hydraulic line from the cylinder. Remove the nuts securing the clutch master cylinder to the firewall and remove the master cylinder from the vehicle. Place the master cylinder pushrod through the firewall and install the mounting fasteners finger tight. Working inside the vehicle, connect the master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal and install the pin. Tighten the clutch master cylinder mounting nuts to the specific torque. Attach the fluid feed hose to the brake reservoir and tighten the hose clamp. Connect the hydraulic line fitting to the clutch master cylinder and install the retaining clip at the fitting. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 specifications and bleed the clutch system. Also check the feel of the brake pedal. If it feels spongy when depressed, bleed the brake hydraulic system.
