    Q:
How to remove and install the door handle,Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 2007 and earlier models, start by raising the window fully, then remove the door trim panel and watershield. Next, take out the anti-theft shield fasteners from the door jamb, remove the push-pin for the door handle fastener, and take out the shield if present. Pry open the plastic clip for the lock cylinder rod-to-door latch and handle rod, disconnect the rods from the latch assembly, and then remove the watershield and door handle nuts to take out the handle and rods from outside the door, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2008 and later models, this procedure pertains only to the outside door handle lever; if replacing the handle reinforcement and lock, remove it along with the door latch as a single assembly. Start by removing the trim cap for the outside handle retaining screw and the screw itself, then take off the watershield and the cover from the outside handle. To remove the handle, pull it out of the door and to the rear to disengage it from the handle reinforcement, and inspect the outside door handle seals for any damage, replacing them if necessary, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the inside door handle on 2007 and earlier models, remove the door trim panel, then the retaining bolt to detach the handle assembly, disconnect the actuator rod, and remove the handle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2008 and later models, remove the door trim panel, disconnect the actuator cable from the inside door handle, and then remove the handle from the door panel, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the door latch or outside door handle reinforcement on 2008 and later models, first remove the outside door handle lever, then the door trim panel. Remove the trim cap for the outside door handle reinforcement retaining screw and the screw itself, followed by the exterior retaining screw for the reinforcement. Take out the latch mounting fasteners, pull out the latch and rods as a single assembly, disconnect the rods and electrical connector from the latch, and disconnect the inside door handle actuator cable. Place the latch and outside door handle reinforcement on a clean workbench, disconnect the actuator rods from the latch or outside door handle reinforcement, and installation is the reverse of removal. For the door lock cylinder, on 2007 and earlier models, remove the door latch and outside door handle, while for 2008 and later models, remove the door latch and outside door handle reinforcement. Then, remove the E-clip and rod arm from the lock cylinder, press the release button, and take out the lock cylinder. When installing, push the lock cylinder all the way into the outside door handle reinforcement until it clicks into place, with installation otherwise being the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to remove the Door Handle,Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the door latch, start by removing the door trim panel and water shield. Then, remove the retainers for the cable and disconnect the electrical connector from the latch. Detach the rods from the latch and remove the latch mounting fasteners. For installation, simply reverse the removal process. To remove the outside handle, open the door and remove the small access cover. Loosen the retainer but do not remove it. Pull the door handle out halfway and remove the small cover, then remove the handle. Installation is the reverse of removal. To remove the door lock cylinder, remove the door trim panel and plastic water shield. Remove the door handle and disconnect the latch rod from the lock cylinder and handle rod. Remove the fastener securing the door handle housing and release the retainer from the rear of the door lock cylinder. Push the lockout of the housing. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to remove various components of a door, such as the Door Handle, Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Door Latch Assembly and window regulator module can be done away with through unplugging the electrical connector and removing the rods since they follow a modular design. For one, the bolt cover, just like the lock trim cover, can be removed to get rid of the outside handle; or a hooked tool can be used to keep the bellcrank lever at half open position during the handle's removal. To take out this lock, press and free it from its holding frame while separating its bar and stripping it off from the tie bar. The inside door handle is detached after taking off its panel by opening screws of materials that surround it using screws or other mechanical fasteners including nuts or bolts which are then disconnected from each other through disconnecting rods attached on metallic parts of their surfaces or ends.

    Q:
How to remove and install Door Handle,Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
HHRs need you to lift up the window, take off the door trim panel and watershield to work on the door. Before you can unlock the outside door handle, you must pull off the small cover piece to find the retaining screw, then unscrew it. Twist the handle toward you to lift off the cover, then free it from the inside fixture. Look closely at the seals around the outside door handle and swap them if they show damage, just follow these same steps when putting them back. Pulling the cable lets you take off the inside handle, and putting it back as you take it apart is how you put it back. Before getting to the Door Latch Assembly and handle reinforcement, peel back the outside door handle and unscrew its mounting plate, then remove the Door Latch Assembly's attaching screws. Simply pull out all the parts together-rods and electrical connector included. To take the door lock cylinder off, push the Door Latch Assembly and outside door handle reinforcements out of the way, move the locking clip sideways, and pull the cylinder. Be sure the lock cylinder snaps in before you attach the locking clip. To take out the base of the rear door, work as you did for the front Door Latch Assembly-start by lifting the window, then pull off the door trim panel and watershield. Take out the door handle's two screws on the outside and spill the connection between the handle and latch rod. Unscrew the handle and wires on the smaller rear doors in coupe versions. To take off the top Door Latch Assembly on the door, open the door, detach the top interior plastic trim, and unscrew the bracket screws. To remove the lower Door Latch Assembly, peel off the trim panel and watershield, then unscrew it to release the latch that fits with its cable. There's no need to change steps when putting back the handle and Door Latch Assemblies-they go back where they were removed from.

How to remove and install the Door Handle, Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder Assembly and lock cylinder on Pontiac G6? Posted by Customer
    A:
Pry up the door latch handle screw cover at the front edge and remove the screw underneath. Lift off the latch handle assembly and disconnect it, with installation being the reverse of removal. Remove the door handle set bolt by working through the access hole, then detach the outside cap on the lock cylinder. Pull the outside handle in a rearward direction to release it from the door, followed by removing the door handle gaskets and the remaining door handle set bolt. Working through the access hole, disengage the actuating rods from the outside door handle and the key lock cylinder, then remove the lock cylinder. Take off the handle from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal. Remove the outside door handle and the lock cylinder retaining clip from the handle, then take out the lock cylinder from the handle, again with installation being the reverse of removal.
