    Q:
How to remove the air conditioning Evaporator on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before you can take out the air conditioning from a Blazer or Jimmy by Chevrolet, you must release all the air pressure and disconnect the car's negative battery connection. Undo the coolant system before taking off the air conditioner tubes from the blower/evaporator box next to the passenger firewall. Four-cylinder Blazers have their accumulator connected through a hose to the evaporator, while six-cylinder Jimmys have a direct attachment right on the evaporator. After disconnecting the blower motor resistor's electric wires, you need to now untie the rubber clip that holds all the wiring bundle next to its metal bracket. Slip out the computer and coolant recovery tank. After that, unhitch and sidestep the relay stand. Unscrew the two bolts holding the housing to the firewall, then unscrew the rest of the bolts. Pull the housing sideways until the seal breaks to take it off. Break the housing apart by taking off the connecting clips and screws, then remove the condenser and check for leakages and straighten any bumped fan fins. Keep all original gaskets when replacing your evaporator core, and put them on your new one. Reinstallation follows removal in reverse, always filling the coolant system and using fresh o-rings treated with specific R-134a oil. Place the foam gasket correctly when reinstalling the housing. Add one fluid ounce of fridge oil when installing a fresh evaporator, then leave the repair station to vacuum, fill, and check for leaks.
