- Q:What are the steps to remove and install the rear door for the 2000 Saturn LS1? Posted by Customer
- A:Start by raising the window and removing the door trim panel and water shield. Remove the door handle cover, door outer panel, rivets, and handle mechanism. Inside the door, slide the door handle forward and unlatch the actuating rod, then pull out and disconnect the front lock rod. Unhook the door handle actuating rod and remove the bolts from the window run channel. Remove the foam insulator, weatherstrip mounting screws, and pull the rear of the weather strip out. Disconnect electrical connectors from the latch mechanism, mark actuating rods for reinstallation, and remove them. Remove the latch mounting bolts, angle the latch mechanism out of the door access hole, and install it in reverse order, replacing lock rod retainers as needed.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
