- A:Start by removing the radiator pressure cap and make sure the engine is not running and has cooled down. Loosen the hose clamps at each end of the hose and pull them back. Twist, pull, and slide the hose off the fitting, being careful not to damage the neck of the component. To install the new hose, dip the ends into clean engine coolant to ease installation.
