    Q:
How to remove various components of a door, such as the Door Handle, Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting in 2010, window regulator parts are taken out in batches, along with the entire window regulator unit. To take off the Door Latch Assembly, detach the window regulator module, disconnect the electrical connector from the latch, detach the rods holding the latch, and move the latch from its mounting location into the window regulator module. Reinstall everything in the opposite order of removal. Outside handle: take off the two plastic covers, unlatch the plastic door trim cover, open the door half an inch to spot a spring-loaded lever, keep the lever open with a hooked tool, let the spring relax by pushing the handle closed, move the handle rearward to get past the lever, then pull the handle's rear to draw it out. When reattaching, put things back in the opposite order. To fix the door lock cylinder, pull off the door trim panel, undo the clip under the cylinder, push the outside door handle down from the frame, disconnect the rod, and take out the lock, and put it back the opposite way. The inside door handle that's attached to the door trim panel can be taken off by first removing the trim panel and covering right underneath it. Take out all mounting screws, and then remove the handle assembly. Unplug the rods and electrical connection, and the handle will come right out. Putting it back together is just like taking it apart in reverse order.
