    Q:
How to check Fuel Pump on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The fuel pump check involves listening for the whirring sound made by the fuel pump when the ignition key is turned ON. If the pump does not come on, check the fuel pump fuse, relay, and wiring. If they all work, the fuel pump is likely defective. If the pump runs continuously, the PCM may be defective. Begin the engine and the gauge reading is compared to the proper pressure specifications. If the pressure is too low, there may be a faulty fuel inlet strainer or blockage in the fuel lines. If it is too high, replace the regulator. The key to the engine must be in the OFF position when checking the psi level. Any fuel leaks should be checked for and the system should be cleaned up.

    Q:
How to remove the high-pressure fuel pump on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the high-pressure fuel pump, begin by relieving fuel pressure and disconnecting its electrical connector. Remove intake air ducting for access. Remove the thermostat housing. Disconnect fuel lines at the injector rail and high-pressure pump. Remove the pump mounting bolts and the pump itself. Installation is the reverse of removal. Check for fuel leaks upon starting the engine.
