- A:The Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor is an integral component of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. On 2011 and earlier models, remove the air intake duct. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF/IMT sensor. The MAF/IMT sensor is located on the air filter housing cover. On 2012 and later models, the sensor slides into the top of the cover and is retained by two screws. Remove the fasteners and detach the sensor from the air filter housing. On 2011 and earlier models, remove the MAF/IMT sensor seal and inspect it for damage. If it is OK, it can be re-used. Installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
