Place the vehicle on raised stands before securing it with jackstands. To disconnect Sway Bar links from their position use a specially designed wrench to hold the ball stud stationary while changing the nut. The process requires removal of Sway Bar Bushing retainers by unbolted retention brackets so they can be detached from body structures. Models made from 2007 onward require a lower position of the subframe to eliminate the Sway Bar Kit. Nevertheless, removing the bar is optional for bushing replacement in these vehicles. Before removing the Sway Bar Kit several components need to be extracted from the vehicle and the bushings should be recorded in their precise positions. Perform inspections for wear as well as hardness and distortion and cracking of bushings before replacement alongside checks for links of the Sway Bar Kit. Use a wire brush to clean all areas where bushings operate on the bar before applying vegetable oil to both inside and outside surfaces of new bushings. The reverse process of removal consists of proper fastener tightening for both bar links and bushing retainers to specified torque.

Start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the front of the vehicle on jack stands.
