- A:For adjustment, follow these steps: 1. Place the shift lever in Park. 2. Detach the cable from the range select lever on the transaxle. 3. Release the tab under the protective sleeve over the adjustment lock using a small screwdriver. 4. Push the adjuster lockout until the cable end can move freely. 5. Connect the cable to the cable bracket and the manual lever on the transaxle in the Park position. 6. Push the white adjuster tab back into place and slide the black lock tab into place. 7. Check that the engine starts only in Park and Neutral positions and that all gear ranges can be selected. 8.
