Saturn 21018785 Steering Knuckle Assembly

Loosen the driveaxle/hub nut and wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it on jackstands. Remove the wheel. Remove the brake caliper and support it with a piece of wire, then remove the caliper mounting bracket and brake disc. If equipped with ABS, remove the wheel speed sensor. Mark the strut to the steering knuckle, then loosen, but do not remove the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts. Separate the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle arm. Remove the balljoint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt and separate the balljoint. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut and push the driveaxle from the hub, supporting it with wire. Remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts. Carefully separate the steering knuckle from the strut. To install, guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position, inserting the driveaxle into the hub. Push the knuckle into the strut flange and install the bolts and nuts without tightening. Connect the balljoint to the knuckle and tighten the pinch bolt/nut. Attach the tie-rod to the steering knuckle arm and tighten the strut bolt nuts and the tie-rod nut to specified torque values. Place the brake disc on the hub and install the caliper mounting bracket and caliper. Install the driveaxle/hub nut and tighten securely. Install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts and driveaxle/hub nut to specified torque values. Finally, have the front-end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
