    A: Take off the crankshaft pulley and the rubber boot located over the crankshaft pulley. For example, observe how the current seal is positioned; the new one has to be fitted to the same depth and in the same orientation. It is gently recommended that the oil seal be removed from the cover using a seal puller or a large screw-driver taking caution with a view to avoiding distorting the cover or scratching the crankshaft. To sustain the surface of the metal, electrician's tape needs to be wound around the end of the screwdriver. Place clean engine oil or multi-purpose grease on the outer rim of the new seal before it is to be fitted into the cover in a manner that the lip will be (because inward) facing. Use a large domestic spanner and a hammer, or a piece of pipe in the event that a large domestic spanner is not available to drive the seal in and it should go in fully square and stop when the face of the seal is at the right depth. Last but not the least, fit the crankshaft pulley and the vibration dampener back on their positions.
