How to replace the front crankshaft seal and ensure proper installation in 3.5L V6 engine on 2005 Saturn Vue?

The timing belt, crankshaft position sensor, and crankshaft sprocket must be taken off. Slowly pull the seal apart from the engine with the help of a small screwdriver or a seal remover tool; be very careful not to hurt the housing bore or damage the crankshaft; scratches on them could lead to leakage with the new seal. Clean up the oil seal bore and apply a thin coat of oil on the outer circumference of the new seal for ease in its fitting, and also on the lip of the seal. Insert the new seal using a seal driver or with a socket having an outside diameter slightly smaller than that of the seal, using a hammer progressively driven in order to have the seal at a square position and at the same depth with respect to the other seal. Next, back in the crankshaft sprocket and the timing belt, and with the engine on check for oil leakages at the front seal.
