  Q: How do you remove and install the rack and pinion assembly on Cadillac ElDorado and Fleetwood?

  A: First, put the car on a lift after detaching and installing the rack and pinion assembly in various models of Cadillac. Take off the front wheel and tire assemblies. Disengage the intermediate shaft lower connection carefully following the cautionary instructions to prevent any damage. Separate both tie rod ends from the Steering Knuckles. Remove line retainers and disconnect outlet and pressure hoses. Unscrew rack and pinion mounting bolts and slide it out. The assembly may be positioned after which its mounting bolts can be tightened by linking up the outlet with pressure pipes and tightening them too. The return line is also installed along with connecting tie rod ends; then, replace it with an intermediate shaft coupler whose bolt is tightened too. Reinstall wheels and tires while lowering your vehicle down at this point. Lastly, fill up the rack and pinion system then bleed it.
