Release fuel system pressure, then remove the connection of the cable to the negative terminal, and flush the cooling system. Pull off the engine cover by pulling its upper left and right handles and unscrew both PCV tubes and brake booster vacuum hose. Pull the heater hoses and tubes free and remove them, and also remove the wiring to the MAP sensor as well as the wiring connector to the throttle control. The air inlet duct of the throttle body must be pulled off, the front spark plug wiring disconnected, the throttle body and the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve pulled off. Remove the MAP sensor with the bracket and the coil bracket from the intake manifold using the bolts and then, hear the engine cover ball stud is removed from the intake manifold stud. Begin with loosening the upper intake manifold bolts in a sequence from the outside, this will then be followed by removing the upper intake manifold with the throttle body connected to it. It is recommended to clean the surfaces for mounting of the two intakes, apply a new gasket on the lower intake manifold before fixing the upper one in position and tightening the bolts in the recommended sequence. For the lower intake manifold, uninstall the upper intake manifold, both the valve covers, detach the fuel supply tube and the injector wires, and the injector harness and the ECT sensor light wiring. Disconnect the wires from the CMP sensor, unbolt the fuel rail. The roughness of the gasket and irregularity can be removed by loosening the manifold mounting bolts gradually such that they can be entirely taken out by hand; if more force is needed in order to break the seal of the gasket without affecting the surfaces, this can also be applied. Here, the nature of the rocker arm bolts is to be loosened to enable the adjusting of the rocker arms by force then withdrawal of the
Pushrods. Remove the old gaskets and then use solvents, such as lacquer thinner, to degrease and dry the flange face and land area; if necessary, use a tap to clean the threads in the bolt holes. Install the intake manifold gaskets on the heads and plug-in the pushrods and rocker arms; the engine block ridges should be sealed with the RTV sealant. Lower the manifold into place, engage the mounting bolts just enough to allow your fingers to grasp them and finally tighten them in the recommended pattern. Put back the crossover housing and tighten the bolts on it; replace the remaining components in the reverse manner that was followed in their removal. Lastly turn on the ignition, replace the oil filter, add more oil in the cooler, and make sure that no fluids is dripping on the ground.
