How to remove the Flywheel in 2.2L four cylinder engine on Chevrolet S10?

Take off the transmission. If yours is a manual vehicle, you will have to remove the clutch and pressure plates as well. Stick a large screwdriver into the starter ring gear or drive plate hole to stop the crankshaft from rotating, then unscrew the mounting bolts. As the mounting bolts are loosened or tightened, use a big screwdriver to keep the drive plate from moving. Support the flywheel while it's last bolt is removed since it's quite heavy. The flywheel/drive plate needs to be pulled straight back so as to disconnect it from the crankshaft.
