For transaxle identification go to the "Vehicle Identification Numbers" section. The speed sensor assembly for the VT25-E continuously variable transaxle is internal above the valve body and any service or repair should be attended to by a professional workshop. In the AF33-5 transaxle, the speed sensors are located on the top side of the unit. First, take out the battery, then unscrew the lid on the fuse box and detach the power steering and also the positive cable from the B+ hookup. Remove the battery cooling box connectors from the battery, relieve the tension of the fuse block connector mounting bolts and pull the fuse block from its retainer to effectively disconnect the wiring harness; supplying front lights. Thirdly, take off the battery cooling box, battery tray bracket, and battery tray too. Take off the sensor mounting bolt and dismantle the sensor together with the O-ring; it is recommended to fit a new O-ring and tighten the sensor mounting bolt to the necessary torque during the refitting of the particular. For the 4T45-E transaxle the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) in on the end of it. Remove the cable from the negative terminal, securely lift the car on jack stands and get rid of the wiring to the sensor. Extract the VSS from the car by pulling it out using your hands and dispose of the O-ring of this part. Reinstallation is done in the reverse order with the use of a new O-ring together with the appropriate tightening of the sensor mounting bolt. Further, speed sensors are placed beneath the front lower part of the transaxle; again, lift the car, remove the wiring connections, undo the bolt, and pull out the sensor and dispose of the O-ring, but replace the O-ring with a new one and tighten the mounting bolt of the sensor properly when reinstalling.
