Remove all the remaining gasket materials from the mating surfaces of the exhaust manifold and head of cylinder. Regarding installation: Thoroughly clean all bolt and stud threads, the manifold mounting studs for example should be wire brushed, whereas cylinder head bolt holes should be tapped. In the case where a new manifold is replaced, the oxygen sensor is relocated from the former manifold. Last but not the least, reverse the above steps and fit a new manifold, but this time you will require a new gasket and tighten the bolts in the right pattern and to the prescribed torque.
