To perform the fuel injector replacement, first relieve the fuel system pressure and equalize tank pressure by removing the fuel filler cap. Then, disconnect the negative battery cable. For four-cylinder models, remove the air intake duct and disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge hose, coolant hose, and PCV hose. Remove the engine wiring harness cover and disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel rail, along with the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting nuts and the entire fuel rail with injectors as a single assembly. Carefully inspect each injector hole and ensure no O-rings remain inside. Remove the retainer securing each injector to the fuel rail and pull out the injectors. Discard the old O-rings and install new ones on the injectors before reassembly. For V6 models, disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail and remove the intake manifold plenum. Disconnect the main electrical connector to the fuel injector harness and the electrical connectors from the injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator. Carefully disengage the injectors from the lower intake manifold and lift the fuel rail with all six injectors as a single assembly. Remove the injectors from the fuel rail and discard the old O-rings. Install new O-rings on the injectors before reassembly. After completing the installation, ensure the new injector O-rings are not damaged and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to the specified torque. Finally, reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for any fuel leaks.
