    Q:
How can I check if the solenoid is defective or if the solenoid circuit is open for the 2005 Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
To check the solenoid, you can connect a jumper lead between the battery (+) and the "S" terminal on the solenoid. If the starter motor now operates, the solenoid is OK and the problem is in the ignition switch, neutral start switch, or in the wiring. If the starter motor still does not operate, you should remove the starter/solenoid assembly for disassembly, testing, and repair.
