- Q:How do you remove the IAC valve? Posted by Customer
- A:To remove the Idle Control Valve, start by turning the ignition key to the OFF position. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the valve. Next, remove the mounting screws and take out the valve from the throttle body. It is important to avoid soaking the valve in any liquid solvent and instead, use a solvent-wetted shop towel. Additionally, remove the O-ring and replace it with a new one. Finally, clean the valve bore in the throttle body using carburetor cleaner. For installation, if a new Idle Control Valve is being used, compare the distance from the tip of the pintle to the valve's mounting flange with the old valve. If the new valve's pintle protrudes farther, slowly retract it with your fingers until the measurement matches the old valve.
