To remove the Throttle Cable, first there is a knob located at the center of the firewall, this knob has to be unscrewed to detach the two-piece plastic firewall cover. Third, remove the connection of the Throttle Cable from the throttle lever where the connection is fixed by grasping the connector at the front and pulling it upwards off the lever pin. Next, pull forward the Throttle Cable housing and while holding both tangs pry the housing out of the bracket, applying needle-nose pliers if needed. Un-hook any clips or straps that are used to secure the cable to the transaxle and then, loosen any bolt that connects the cable with the transaxle and then pull the full length of the cable upwards to get it off the transmission. The cable connecting the transaxle Throttle link should be disconnected and the cable removed from the car. To install the cable the cable is connected to the transaxle Throttle link by using the bolt and the cover is put on the cable and tightened. Run the cable to the top of the engine, insert the housing through the bracket as far as it will go-you will hear a click, align the connector over the pin of the throttle lever and pull back, the cable will click into place, you may also use any additional clips or straps to fasten the cable. In adjustment, it is necessary to make certain the engine is off; then, by pressing on the re-adjust tab, move the slider through the fitting to the right and away from the throttle lever where it will stop. Turn the re-adjust tab and set the throttle lever to the wide open position with the tab and release the knob when the tab clicks. Do not produce excess tension; if problems are encountered, inspect the cable for smooth movement, if it has become stuck, it may require replacement. If the cable is running freely then look for problems with the Throttle link or throttle lever.
