Saturn LS Engine Oil Cooler

Saturn Engine Oil Cooler keeps motor oil within a safe temperature range so viscosity remains stable and the internal parts do not get damaged due to heat. The compact oil-to-water unit is installed in the coolant circuit for warmed antifreeze to take away excess heat from the circulating lubricant. Since oil reaches its working temperature quickly, the Engine Oil Cooler prevents the large increases that can occur with an LS sedan towing heavy loads or climbing steep grades from causing additive drop-out. Throughout the LS production run, Saturn selected a single style Engine Oil Cooler, favoring the proven tube-in-case design instead of air-to-oil plates to ensure drivers experience improved warm-up and regulated peak heat. Malfunctioning of the Engine Oil Cooler occurs mainly due to clogged coolant passages or corrosion which could also cause mixing of oil and coolant. Regular cooling-system maintenance keeps the Engine Oil Cooler working efficiently. Engines in the LS family have longer oil life, better lubrication and lower risk of scuffing piston or bearing than a non-equipped engine. Essentially, the Engine Oil Cooler is a quiet protector that helps every Saturn keep its four-cylinder or V6 heart running smoothly.

Each OEM Saturn LS Engine Oil Cooler we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS Engine Oil Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the engine oil cooler on Saturn LS?
    A:
To remove the engine oil cooler, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and drain the cooling system. Then, remove the upper and lower intake manifolds, intake manifold spacer, and coolant crossover housing. Next, remove the inlet and return lines from the oil cooler and raise the vehicle to secure it on jack stands. Remove the oil filter and oil filter housing, as well as the crankshaft sensor. Disconnect the oil cooler inlet and return lines from the engine block and lower the vehicle. For installation, start by installing the engine oil cooler and new O-rings onto the engine block. Tighten the cover bolts in sequence and install the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts. Install the oil cooler lines into the block above the oil filter housing and tighten the fittings securely. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
